I made this tutorial so people who want to can learn how to make AA-trans.

You'll need these tools.

A brain
Graphic Studio
Adobe Photoshop
Optpix imageStudio

Don't ask where to get the last two.

*Note, I'll be using my Holland kits for this tutorial, expect updated versions soon. You can find them somewhere on this forum.

Step 1

-Open Photoshop
-Open any kind of graphic, example, a kit, preferablly in .psd format.
-Draw the tranparencies on your kit and layer it(only one layer is needed), like so.

Imagen

Step 2

-Right click on the layer in the layer window and click on "Select Layer Transparency." If done right, a marquee will appear around the selcted parts.

Imagen

Step 3

-With the layer selected, right click on your image and select "Save Selection."

Imagen

-Save it as a new channel in your .psd and give it a distinguishable name.

Imagen

-The end result:

Hold on now, you're thinkin, that isn't how the channel should look! You are right my friend, we'll do that now.

-We need to invert the channel, easy and simple. With the alpha channel selected in the channel window, in the top toolbar on Photoshop go to Image>Adjustments>Invert(or simply Ctrl+I).

Imagen

-Result:

Step 4

-Delete the layer that had the transparencies. It is not needed anymore as the trans are saved in the alpha channel we created. Plus, to make the trans look good, the transparent parts should have colored parts as well, like how kel does it.

Imagen

Step 5

-Flatten the image.
-Go to file SAVE AS, give it a name and save it as a .tif file. It should have no layers, but one, whole background image.

Imagen

Step 6
-Close Photoshop
-Open Optpix imageStudio
-Open the .tif file you saved.
-Right click on "Display Alpha Channel" to make sure the channel is correct and then right click again "Alpha Blending Display" to make sure the correct parts are being made transparent.

Step 7

-Right click on the image, select "Color Reduction."
-On the "Output" tab select 256 colors.
-On the "Sorting" tab, select alpha value order.
-On the "Alpha" tab make sure the slider is all the way to the right, (15, Alpha best) and make sure "Reduce color including Alpha value" and "Don't diffuse error in rendering Alpha" are ticked.
-Click "Color Reduction" and then "Finish." You should see a new window that says 256+Alpha. This is your finished product. save it as a .png(important).

Step 8

-Close Optpix imagestudio
-Open Graphic studio
-Open the .png you saved
-Hit F7 to see its transparency mask. If it looks somewhat like the image below, then congrats! You just made an image with AA trans.
